Entrepreneur Fouad Al Hakim Khalak, a pharmacist and PhD in 3D bioprinting of organs and tissues, developed his academic career in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava), following his studies at the UPV/EHU and his doctoral research at the Lascaray Research Center. His work focuses on 3D bioprinting, a cutting-edge scientific field essential for personalized medicine using patient-derived cells. 

In the business sector, Fouad founded NeoSegMed, a biotech startup specializing in medical image segmentation to develop tailored therapies. The company launched its operations at the Technology Park of Álava, backed by the EKINTZAILE program—a public entrepreneurship support ecosystem in the Basque Country that guides startups from their initial stages.
