TALGO

At its factory in Rivabellosa, Álava, this firm builds high-tech train carriages for countries across several continents.
Talgo’s Rivabellosa plant has built high-speed train carriages for many countries in Europe, the United States and Asia, including the high-speed train linking Medina and Mecca. Among its ongoing projects for Europe and Asia are its trains for Denmark; long-distance trains for the Berlin-Amsterdam route; the latest generation trains for Egypt that will link Alexandria, Cairo and Luxor; trains for Uzbekistan that will link Taskent, Samarcanda and Bukhara in Central Asia; and the Talgo Avril for Spain, which can run at up to 330 kilometers per hour. Between 2018 and 2020, the Rivabellosa plant doubled its workforce, and is currently developing the ‘Talgo Vittal One’ renewable hydrogen model, which will be the world’s first dual hydrogen-electric train.
