The gateway to southwest Europe for air freight transport.
Vitoria International Airport possesses excellent, specialised infrastructures, such as its terminal for perishables and live animals. It is open 24 hours a day, providing services for the handling of all cargo types. Its 3,500 m long runway and electronic equipment, which enable take-off and landing in conditions of low visibility, make it possible for the world’s largest cargo aircraft to use this airport. Vitoria International Airport boasts a long history in the management of complex goods-handling projects, and ranks fourth in Spain in terms of cargo volume.
The integrated services companies UPS, FedEx and DHL operate at the airport. The latter has its air hub for Spain, Portugal and southern France at the airport.
